Beko Becomes a Sponsor to the Oldest Football Cup of the World

Carrying on its worldwide sponsorships in the sports arena, Beko now rolls up its sleeves to have its name written on the oldest cup of history. As the sponsor of many football activities in England, its strongest market in Europe, Beko Plc has now become a sponsor of The FA Cup, which has been organized since 1871 and the last one of which was won by Chelsea FC.

Stating that Beko will become a sponsor in electrical appliances field throughout 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons of the organization which will chain 500 million people to the screens, Sean McAuliffe, President of FA Global Business Development, said, “We are very happy to see Beko among our sponsors. Beko has a successful background in sports area, particularly in football. It also appeals to football fans and families with its rich product range.”

Ragıp Balcıoğlu, General Manager of Beko Plc, on the other hand, said, “We are very excited to become the official supporter of The FA Cup, the oldest, most watched and most important tournament in England football. Gathering The FA Cup with its deep-rooted heritage and Beko brand together will be very useful in terms of the target audience of our brand. It has been 4 years now that we have been taking our place in the football fields of many famous football teams in the English Premier League. On the other hand, we have been successfully carrying on our “Beko Mums United Facebook” project which we brought into being in the social media in 2011. Such works of ours are consistently increasing our brand awareness. We will carry our present sponsorships in sports further thanks to Beko and The FA Cup partnership.

Beko has been supporting basketball since 2006 and now finally it has also undertaken the sponsorship of the Italian Basketball League after its sponsorships in the Turkish, German, Russian and Lithuanian basketball leagues.  Also supporting the international basketball games besides its league sponsorships, Beko became the Presenting Sponsor of 2010 FIBA World Basketball Championship organized in Turkey, following its sponsorships in the FIBA Asian Basketball Championship organized in China and the FIBA European Basketball Championship organized in Poland in 2009. Finally undertaking the “Presenting Sponsor” in 2011 European Basketball Championship, Beko is now getting ready to actualize the Beko Super Cup tournament where it will bring the champions of the leagues it has sponsored together for the first time.
