Our Environment is Very Clean  

 
Arçelik organized a local communication project in October 2001-March 2002 in order to enhance environmental awareness as part of its social responsibility program. The project that took place in Ankara, Eskişehir and Bolu was called 'We are in your environment”. 
 
Some of the sub-projects carried out within the scope of “We are in your environment: Arçelik A.Ş. Local Public Relations and Communications Project” are Environmental Contribution Project Competition, Plant Visits, Environmental Education Sessions, “Our Province and its Environmental Assets” Essay Competition and Environmental Conferences. 
 
TEMA 10 Billion Oaks Campaign
  
The TEMA Foundation, which sees erosion and its socio-economic results as one of the biggest problems that affect both the present and future of Turkey, and Arçelik A.Ş. have worked together to sponsor a forest which was named after the Arçelik and Beko brands and which consists of 250 hectares planted with 2.5 million oak acorns. 
 
The project aims at growing one tree from every three acorns and means that Arçelik A.Ş. has contributed to approximately 830,000 trees out of 2.5 million acorns.
 
ARÇELİK A.Ş. received the "Oak Crystal Award" for its contributions to the acorn planting campaign which was started by the TEMA Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Forestry and which has now become a national project.  The "10 Billion Oaks" project was organized because Turkey is face to face with the threat of severe erosion and it is the largest forestation project of its kind in the world. An “Oak Planting Festival” has been held in March 2002 in the 'Arçelik and Beko Oak Forest' on the 22nd km of the Ankara-Samsun highway.
 
 
Erosion Documentary
 
'Erosion Documentary' sponsored by Arçelik A.Ş. and prepared by the TEMA Foundation is an important resource to inform Turkey about one of the most important problems of our country, to increase awareness about and to take measures against erosion.
 
As the first example of its kind, the 'Erosion Documentary' established itself as one of the important factors in training and education materials for environmental protection in elementary schools; it was also broadcast extensively on various television channels. 
 
NTV Green Screen Project Sponsorship
 
ARÇELİK A.Ş. has become sponsor for NTV Green Screen Project. This project has been prepared to draw attention to the issues of global warming and environment and to raise consumer awareness. ARÇELİK A.Ş has been mentioned as the first company introducing A energy class products to Turkey and maintaining its leading role in the production of environment-friendly technologies.
 
ENVER Project Sponsorship
 
In 2008, the Project of Energy Efficiency (EnVer) was sponsored. This project was launched by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to raise public awareness on energy efficiency. The message “One Keban Dam for Each Year" has been promoted with TV ad and press announcement; and ARÇELİK A.Ş's support was mentioned.
 
TEMA Oak Project
 
Believing that permanent and long term solutions come from cooperation, ARÇELİK A.Ş contributed to the campaign of “Don't Waste Your Water" that was started by TEMA Foundation in 2007 to create consciousness and promote water saving among consumers as well as showing the significance of individual efforts. Afterwards, we maintained our support with “TEMA Oak Project”. As ARÇELİK A.Ş., manufacturing the world’s least water consuming dishwashers, we have shown our environmentalist approach and commitment once more by supporting oak donation project under the campaign “Don’t Waste Your Water”.
 
ARÇELİK A.Ş. undersigned another environment friendly campaign by contributing to “TEMA Oak Project” with 9 acorns for each Arçelik and Beko dishwasher sold in June 2008.
