Acting on the principle that culture and arts are one of the most important elements in the development of society, Arçelik A.Ş. supports various cultural and artistic activities and plays a role in the development of arts and culture in Turkey. In addition to sponsoring cultural and artistic activities, Arçelik A.Ş. has also given its support to the albums of important musicians in Turkey, as well as to documentaries.

- Arçelik A.Ş., which has had the privilege of taking the first step in many areas in the white goods manufacturing industry of Turkey during the past 45 years, has published a book called “Mamulâttan Markaya” on its corporate history. “Mamulâttan Markaya” is the first corporate history book that documents the corporation’s history through witnesses who have first-hand experience in every step of this history.

Exhibitions:

Leonardo : Universal Genius

Arçelik A.Ş. sponsored the internationally acclaimed exhibition “Leonardo: Universal Genius”, featuring interactive inventions by Leonardo da Vinci and embodying the concepts of “innovation and technology,” which are valuable for the company.

The exhibition contains 40 functional replicas - most of which are full sized - constructed by historians and engineers specialized in Da Vinci’s original sketches; and it was visited by 114.000 people for two months in Istanbul and 60.000 people for one month in Ankara.

Sports

Arçelik believes that education, culture, arts and sports altogether play a major role in the growth of young generations. Thus, the company has vigorously sponsored various sporting events since its foundation.

In 2006, Arçelik decided to sponsor team sports that personify the Beko brand values of “innovativeness”, “youth” and “dynamism.” Upon this decision, Arçelik A.Ş. has sponsored Turkish Basketball League with the Beko brand for four years.

Beko took the brand's investments to an international level with its “World Brand” slogan.  The brand became the main sponsor of the FIBA Asia Championship Basketball and the FIBA European Basketball Championship held in Poland in 2009.

Beko advanced the brand's basketball investments to the highest level when it became the “Presenting Sponsor” of the 2010 FIBA World Championship, which is organized every four years and brings together the world's strongest basketball teams.  This is the first time a Turkish brand is sponsoring such a major tournament.

Beko also sponsored the German Basketball League, one of the prominent European leagues, in the fall of 2009.    When Beko became title sponsor, the name of German Basketball League Bundesliga Basketball was changed to “Beko Basketball Bundesliga” as from the season of 2009-2010. According to the sponsorship agreement, the BBL All-Star Day, the BBL Top Four, and the BBL Championship Cup will also be held with Beko's sponsorship in Germany for six years.

The Beko brand became the main sponsor of the Youth Ice Hockey League in Russia in 2009 with the aim of building stronger communication with the younger generation.  The Youth Ice Hockey League is made up of 20 teams in 19 cities.
